It's audio recordings I can't play. I've tried a number of the Grateful Dead recordings on LMA. This one, just for example:

EDIT: Neither HTML5 nor Flash seems to work. Old player works fine.

Videos seem to play fine, based on the testplay page.

Windows 7. Thanks, but I don't want to try other browsers.

EDIT: And just to reiterate: none of the GD recordings I've tried on LMA play using the new player, so it's a software problem not a problem with the recordings.

I just fired up a real windows7 machine and ran MSIE
in its version9 on that item and it played just fine
(I also put it into version7 and version8 mode and the item plays just fine, too).

So I'm not sure what the issue is...
You're using MSIE on your Win7, I presume?

are you using MSIE version8 with either flash disabled or no flash plugin?
that would certainly not play...

As I said at the beginning of my query, I'm using FF. Sorry for not reiterating that point.

AHA!
reproduced *THANK YOU* for re-pointing out FF on Win7.

Now I see *exactly* the issue, and I can fix it cluster-wide in less than one hour.

On it... (the audio file firefox needs to play on windows -- the .ogg, is presently not retrievable....)

wow, fantastic little find and report -- I'm pretty stunned this was busted for this long, SORRY! 8-)
